Max lives in the Netherlands and has been active for more than 40 years in capturing the fascinating history of military aviation in the Dutch East Indies. He co-operated in several publications as "Dutch Profiles" on the P-40N and B-25, and annually writes in the "De Stuurkolom" the contact organ for the reunion of the ML-KNIL and is a source of information for the children of former ML-KNIL members and other interested parties.

He gladly contributes to the preservation of aviation historical heritage by giving historically responsible advice to owners.

As a member of the Dutch Color Group in the nineties he is the co-author of "Camouflage en Kentekens” on aircraft of the Dutch Armed Forces. As initiator for the Dutch Nationals and a source for "Dutch Decals", a contribution is also made to the translation of history to plastic model building in the Netherlands.

In 2018 he published "Camouflage en Kenmerken" on aircraft of the Netherlands East Indies Air Force. A complete oversight in 460 pages of the camouflage and marking used by the colonial Air Force in the Netherlands East Indies.

Max is married and is the father of three children. In daily life he works on initiating real estate projects.
